The catholic church St. Georg was build in the beginning of the 20th century and is an example of architecture for the neo-Gothic era.
Several bomb attacks that happened during World War II caused an increased influence of stress and unusual movements inside the builidng. Therefore damages in the vault ceiling appeared which endangered the stability of the ceiling.
To reconstruct the vaults and bearing structure of the roof Guericke Ingenieurgesellschaft made an expertise concerning the stability of the vaults and a monitoring in several areas.
